This exquisite pendant is made with a AAA Gem quality Golden South Sea pearl that measures 13-14mm, with a deep, brilliant luster AAA and a smooth, clean surface AAA, and a perfectly round shape AAA. The pearl has a beautiful white body color with pink overtones. Sixteen sparkling diamonds, a total gem weight of 0.15cttw, accent the elegant 18k white gold pendant. White and Golden South Sea cultured pearls are grown in large tropical oysters in Australia, Myanmar, Indonesia and other Pacific countries. The creation of a South Sea pearl is a labor of love, spending two or more silent years within the host oyster – the Pinctada maxima (commonly known as the silver or gold lip). Once the shell has been seeded with a small round nucleus made of mother of pearl, the oyster shell is left to do what it does best - produce stunning pearl nacre and lots of it. As a result the shapes and sizes of the pearls are all different and formed entirely by nacre. Some emerge perfectly round, some teardrop, some semi-round, some baroque - each one different and unique. As a result a perfect pearl strand can take years to complete - to find the perfect pearl to make up the strand is not an easy task. South Sea pearls can be many shades of color. The shade can vary enormously from the warmer white-pink tones through to silver tones and finally to a truly golden hue.
